Administration
New Features
Email Groups
Application Email groups can be added to quilliup to enable Email alerts (Quality Gates). Email groups enable central management of recipients, recipients can be quilliup users or a list of addresses.
Email Settings
The infrastructure required to work with Email (Quality Gates). The Email Settings supports different security protocols and restrictions related to the distribution and content.
Quality Gates
New Features
Files as a Data source
A new data source was added to the application, enabling users to use the different test wizards on data which is sourced in a file.
The data source is defined as a folder pointer.
Definitions related to the read of the file are located at the data set.
The comparison engine of Quality Gates allows users to validate consistency and completeness of data from any source (i.e. between different source types).
Supported file types at 2.0:
- *.csv
- *.tsv
- *.tbl
- *.txt
- *.xls
- *.xlsx
File templates and patterns
Designed to handle the validation of current data when incremental data files are managed, and contain a sequential indicator as part of the file name. The last file will be addressed automatically when this option is configured. Filtering a file - in 2.0 filtering a file is restricted to one condition/column with '=' or '<>' operands.
Data types and formatting - files columns are read as string data type by default, Quality Gates data allows the user to set the correct data type and format (currently supported for date formats, for numeric values see known issues section of this file).
Custom rule test wizard
A new rule can be found at the test wizard. Custom rule is used when all logic is defined at the data set, during the fetch of the data from the source.
Monitor view
The monitor is a live detailed view of all executions, including the currently processed tasks.
Supports different filters like time, tags, status, project.
Supports a view of variable values that were assigned at each execution when using generic test templates.
A Monitor view can be saved to "My Favorites" for a focused user oriented view.
Export Results to Excel file
Test results can be exported to an excel file. The export can be done by the user from the test results area or by attaching it to an Email alert.
Excel results are also used as an additional view of the results, where all columns values and statuses are aligned to a record at the key level.
Email alerts and summary reports
Alerts at the test level - every test status and results data can be sent to recipients. The settings of Email content can vary between different recipients.
Summary reports at the execution flow level - an aggregated report by a tag group or a detailed objects status report.
Email supported recipients:
- Application users and groups with an Email defined
- Application Email groups (Email groups are defined at the Administration module)
- Active directory users (when configured to AD mode)
- Active directory Email groups (when configured to AD mode)
- Free addresses (restricted domains from Administration Email settings apply)
Email templates
Different templates can be managed and applied (different templates can be distributed to different recipients). Email templates can be created at the Administration.
Execution API for the execute of tests, execution flows and scripts The API supports assigning variables values (there is no limitation to the number of variables applied). quilliup 2.0 supports execution of a single object (at quilliup 2.1 this functionality will be expanded).
Improvements
- Support of a circular execution flow - Designed for implementation combining a loop run, may combine dynamic variables per cycle.
- Improvements at the User Management area when working in AD mode.
- Deployment management improvements.
- Improvements of the script entity.
- An alert regarding duplicate keys was added to the compare rule.
- Detailed execution failure errors were added to the test status.
Bug Fixing
- Deployment bug fixing.
- Permissions enforcement bug fixing.
Known Issues
- When working with multiple environments and deploy, recipients list from source environment will be deployed as well, and cannot be removed. This issue will be handled at quilliup 2.2.
- Execution statistics in the test result section is displayed only at the end of the run and not during the process. This issue will be handled at quilliup 2.2.
- Variables values are not presented in the results data or at the Email. They can be viewed only at the monitor screen. This issue will be handled at quilliup 2.2.
- Execution failures send an Email without the test meta data.
- Files where condition is limited to one column, '=' or '<>' operands.
- Export to Excel is limited to ~150,000 records (this number can vary according to allocated memory).
- Excel file as a source rounds numeric values with an accuracy of over 2 decimal places.
- Issues related to source files that contain numeric values with a decimal value or a 1000 separator (,):
- Aggregation of the data is not supported. This issue will be fixed at quilliup 2.2.
- Format data of files is not supported for numeric values. This issue will be fixed at quilliup 2.2.
- Script types Shell and cmd are not fully supported.
