Here RDA Global Permissions can be controlled. Everything that will be defined here, will be globally applied to all the Projects in RDA.
Global Permissions
"System Admin -> System Settings -> RDA Settings -> Global Permissions":
Each module (e.g. QG, RDA) has its own relevant Global Permissions settings options.
The Administration module has no detailed permissions, a user which is allowed to access the Administration module will have full authorization for all administration operations.
Global Permissions control access to various menu items, primarily for cross-project entities such as Data Sources, Projects, and other system-wide resources.
The RDA module Global Permissions settings are the default state for each new created Role. Modifying the default Global Permissions will apply to new Roles that will be created at the module level (i.e. Role Global Permissions).
Data Sources section:
The user can define his own Data Sources permissions – Create/Edit/Delete/Assign Data Source(s) to a Project .
For detailed information please see related manual: RDA, Data Sources
Note: disabling all the sub permissions (Data Source\Projects\Editor\manager Application Security\ Deploy\Import) will provide view-only permission!
The user can define his own Project's permissions – Create/Edit/Delete/Assign Data Source(s) to a Project...
For detailed information please see related manual: RDA, Projects
Editor section:
Enable project selector - when on, activates filter by Project option in RDAE main screen:
Default RDA Editor Project Filter - it's possible to choose one Project from a predefined list. If the value is chosen then when the user accesses RDAE main screen, FWs available in chosen Project will be shown. If the value isn't chosen, then when the user accesses RDAE main screen, he will have to choose a Project from the predefined list.
Manage Application Security section:
The user can define Role's permissions – Create/ Edit/ Delete Roles.
Deploy section:
The "Enable deployments permissions" switcher allows the User to deploy packages that are managed by the permission – enable deploy Data Sources/Projects/Roles.
Import section:
Allows the user to import packages.
Cache section:
This section pertains to the DD's cache, which enables loading and storing DD data. The first result for each DD is saved in the cache (based on the defined limit) and updated either after a set period of time or when any related details in quilliup (such as the DD's SQL query) are modified. As a result, FWs load much faster because data is retrieved from the cache instead of sending requests to the database and waiting for a response.
Clear cache button – DD's cache will be fully cleared.
Update cache button - updates all the data saved in the DD's cache.
For more detailed information about DD's caching please refer related manual: RDA module, Drop Down's Cache
