3.4.12 Test's Email Settings

Abbreviations, used in the manual:

EF - Execution Flow.

DV - Data Validation

AD - Active Directory

In a specific Test, go to "Share Options", and choose "Email Settings":

"Email Settings" window/form will open:

Note: several Mailing Groups with different settings can be assigned to the same Test!

Recipients Group Name - choose a name for the Mailing Group. 

Search Recipient From Column - if in one of Test's Data Sets there is a column that contains e-mail(s)  addresses which can be used for email sending:
set this column to be a key in the Data Set (should be done for all Tests types except Custom and DV), mark the checkbox and choose the same column in "Share Options -> Email Settings -> Recipient Column Name". Each recipient from this column will receive an email with Test results regarding returned rows in Test's run results:

For example, if you have a Data Set with the following columns:

id	first_name	last_name	email
1	Ido	Cohen	[e-mail]
2	Noam	Alon	[e-mail]
3	Maor	Dahan	[e-mail]

User Ido will receive Test results that will contain row 1 only.

User Noam will receive Test results that will contain row 2 only.

User Maor will receive Test results that will contain row 3 only.

 

"Search Recipients" - You can look for existing quilliup Users, Groups, Mailing Groups, AD Users, and AD Groups by clicking the "Search" button, or manually add the necessary users’ email addresses. Multiple recipients of different types can be added to a single Mailing Group.

Alternatively to the "Search Recipients" option, you can enter the full email address and click the "Add" button:
 

The color assigned to each recipient corresponds to their type, with each type represented by a unique color.

Email Template - should be chosen from the list of templates. quilliup contains predefined Email Templates and in addition, new customized templates could be added. Please see the related manual for more details: Email Templates

Note: system variables "@Variables;" and "@VariablesBody;" can be used in Email Subject and/or Email Body fields. They will display the names and values of the Project Variables used in the Test.

Sample result data in email body - when marked => sample Test's results will be sent as part of the Email Body.

Script query - when marked => Data Set(s) query(s) will be sent as part of the Email Body.

Detailed execution error - when marked => if Test finishes with an Execution Failure status, a detailed execution error will be sent as part of the Email Body.

Remove summary table - this check box appears only if "Sample result data in email body" checkbox is marked. The summary table is by default sent for Compare Tests (Data Integrity, Raw Data, and Aggregated Data) and KPI Range Tests. When this check box is marked => the summary table won't be sent.

 

 

Attachments section:

Complete result data in excel file - when marked => new checkbox “With timestamp” will appear. If With timestamp is marked => Excel file with Test's results sent by email and will contain a timestamp in it's name. 

Add attachment as a link - when marked => the link for downloading an Excel file with the Test's results will be sent as part of the email.

button - allows to add additional Mailing Group(s) to the same Test.

Note: in any Test, if the "Complete result data in Excel file" checkbox is selected under "Share Options -< Email Settings" and the file size is too large, you will receive a *.tar.qz archive file נט email. However, if the *.tar.qz file exceeds 5.5 MB, you will receive an error message stating, "attaching an excel file failed: Message size exceeds fixed maximum message size", and no file will be attached. You can still download the Excel file within the Test results directly by accessing the Test UI.
