3.1.2 Dashboard

QG - Quality Gates

The dashboard displays calculated KPIs related to the data quality state, which can be filtered by Projects, Tags, Severity, Status, and Time.

The purpose of the Dashboard is to showcase the state of data health across different areas and systems in the organization. Quality KPIs translate an operational view (e.g., "x out of y Tests have failed") into a business-value perspective (e.g., "sales data is 70% consistent, and customer data is 80% complete").

How to open Dashboard?

1. In the QG module, navigate to the clock icon located in the top-right corner.
2. Click the icon, and in the opened right-side menu, click “Go to Dashboard”:

The Dashboard will open, displaying the general KPIs without any filters applied:

There are various different filters in the left side panel:

Last Execution - if marked, only the last execution will be taken into the calculation. Otherwise, all executions will be calculated:

Severity - filter the displayed dashboard according to specific Test and it's specific execution severity:

Status - filter the displayed dashboard according to specific Test and it's specific execution statuses:

Projects - filter the dashboard according to specific Project(s):

Tags - filter the dashboard according to specific Tag(s).

There is an option to filter entities (Tests, EFs, ...) that have no Tag(s) assigned by checking the checkbox "Blank Tags", for example:

If an existing favorite Dashboard has been modified, click the "Save" button in the upper left corner to save the changes:

If a new Dashboard has been created and you would like to customize the Dashboard and save it under a new name, click “Add to My Favorites” in the upper-left corner:

Dashboard Main Areas:

The Dashboard is divided into four main areas:

1. Quality KPIs
2. Filters
3. Charts and Graphs
4. Participated Tests

1. Quality KPIs area

You can click on each KPI to adjust both graphs to include only the chosen KPI's data.

By de-selecting the chosen KPI, the graphs will include all relevant data.

A. Conformity - does the data conform to critical rules?

• Data Validation Tests – Regular rules (not unique or null).
• KPI Tests – Range and Snapshot Tests.

B. Completeness - is the business-required information available?

• Missing values from compare Tests (Data Integrity, Raw data, Aggregated data).
• Null values identified by Data Validation Tests (via automatically created quick rules).
• Missing values from KPI Range and KPI Snapshot Tests. 

C. Uniqueness - are duplicate records causing confusion?

• Unique rules from Data Validation Tests (via automatically created quick rule). 

D. Consistency - is the data consistent across different locations?

• Different values identified in Compare Tests (Raw Data, Aggregated Data).

E. Timeliness - is the information available when it is expected and needed? 

F. Score - calculate the total KPI score based on predefined weights.

Weights of the Dashboard can be configured in the Administrator module. Kindly use the following manual for relevant information: Dashboard-Settings 

2. Filters area

Filters allow to refine the Dashboard results using options available in the left-side panel:

Last execution checkbox - if checked => results will include ONLY last execution. If unchecked => results will include all executions:

Period - use the dropdown in the upper-right corner to filter results by a specific time period:

3. Charts and Graphs area

Charts and graphs display trends in KPIs over time or quality scores by severity:

• Hover over the charts with your mouse to view details.
• You can filter charts to display only one KPI by clicking the corresponding KPI above the chart.

4. Participated Tests area

Displays all relevant Tests (or rules, if they are Data Validation Tests).

When filtering by a specific KPI (Completeness, Uniqueness, Consistency, Conformity), only related tests will appear in the grid. 

Completeness- Compare, Data Validation and KPI tests are shown

Uniqueness- Custom and Data Validation tests are shown

Consistency- Compare tests are shown

Conformity- Custom, Data Validation and KPI tests are shown

Note: In Data Validation Tests, each rule will appear separately, for example:

• Ip_Not_Null - Test name.
• 1/2/3 - Rule number in the Data Validation Test.

• Clicking on a rule will display it's details:

1 - represents the formula of the rule.

2 - represents the results of the current execution.

Test Navigation:

To navigate to the required test, click the following icon:

This will open the Test in a new tab, where you can edit the Test and view full results history.
