This manual will guide you through creating a direct connection to a file in Quilliup by setting up a Data Source of type Files.
Follow these steps:
Step 1: Create a Network Location by first locating your file on the server, then selecting its path.
Note: If the file is located on a different server than where Quilliup is installed, please follow the example below.
Navigate to the Administration module:
System Admin → System Settings → General Settings → Network Locations
Step 2: Add Network Location.
Name - choose the name of your network location.
Path - choose the direct path of the file inside the server.
*Note: always use the Test Connection button in order to check the correctness of the specified path!
Step 3: Create a Files data source
Go to Quality Gates module: Quality Gates → Settings → Data Sources → Files → Add Folder.
This form will open, fill the required fields:
Name - choose the name for the Data Source.
Location - choose the name of the previously created Network Location (Step 2).
Path - if chosen Network Location contains a subfolder(s), it can be added in this field.
Filter - choose the file format. The following extensions are supported: *.csv, *.tsv, *.tbl, *.txt, *.xls, *.xlsx, *.sas7bdat.
Search subfolders - allows searching for subfolders in chosen "Location" & "Path".
Assigned Projects - The Data Source must be linked to the relevant Project(s).
Once assigned, it will appear in the Data Sources list within the Project’s Data Set(s).
A Data Source can also be added or removed directly from the Project’s settings. Additionally, administrators have the ability to restrict access to specific Data Sources for certain roles by configuring Project Role Permissions.
Example of how to connect to a file that is located on another server:
Step 1: Make sure the quilliup server has a shared network file, which enables access to the server you want to address.
Note: a system Administrator can assist with setting up a shared network file (if does not exist).
Step 2: By typing the network file name into the Run app, you can access the files you need on the other server:
